Parties and Social Events in Godalming

Busbridge Village Hall is a characterful, spacious venue for up to 130 people for daytime or evening events. We can offer:

• Large, cheerful hall with lots of daylight and vaulted ceiling
• Roomy kitchen with large fridge, cooker, microwave, urn and serving hatch
• Large, sunny, enclosed garden next to open fields that’s 30m x 20m (max) - great for outdoor drinks or games. You can put up gazebos and there is a side entrance for easy access with garden furniture etc.
• Off street parking for 28 cars right outside the hall with level access - easy for wheelchairs and buggies
• Wi-Fi & PA system
• Glasses and crockery (check with us exactly what you need)

• Projector screen, tables and chairs

Some Basic Rules

• You can’t have barbecues, fireworks, candles or any naked flames anywhere inside or outside the hall.

• You can have a band or play music but you need to avoid excessive noise that will disturb our neighbours.

• Evening parties have to end by 11:45pm, with music finishing by 11.30pm.

• The hall is managed by volunteers and we can’t clean after your party so please plan enough time and people to properly clean after your event ready for the next user:

  • All floors swept and spills wiped up

  • Tables wiped and furniture returned

  • Kitchen floor (and lobby area if needed) mopped

  • All crockery and glasses washed and packed away

  • All kitchen surfaces and serving areas wiped

  • Toilets cleaned (yes!)

  • Decorations removed

  • Garden cleared

  • Rubbish and recycling taken away.

Top tips for a fun and safe party with no stress!

• As early as you can, decide possible date(s) to fit your main guests and entertainers and check our availability.
• Contact us to hold a slot if you need some time to finalise arrangements before you commit to a firm booking.
• Come and visit to see what’s available and what you need to bring.
• If you plan to run a bar or sell any alcohol, you must get a licence, which takes about a month.
• Remember to pay the deposit for damage & cleaning (£300 evening/alcoholic events, £150 daytime) at least 2 weeks before your hire.
• Key collection details are provided upon receipt of the deposit.

Wedding Celebrations

We have a great space for wedding celebrations!

• Very low cost compared with traditional venues.
• You can use all our grounds and decorate in all areas to make the space your own with fewer restrictions than hotels or formal venues.
• Free overnight parking for guests' cars.

The most practical option for Saturday weddings is to hire from Friday afternoon to set up and decorate, leaving you free to relax on the morning of your big day! You can return on the Sunday to come back to clear up. Please get in touch so that we can discuss dates and options, and arrange a visit.

Wakes

Our position close to Busbridge Church makes the hall suitable for funeral wakes. You can see the hall availability here and please contact us for a chat.

Teenage & Young Adult Parties

Sorry but we can’t host parties for teenagers or people in their 20s.

Enjoy your Party!

After your party you’ll need to:

• Clean the kitchen, sweep the hall, check all toilets and clean them as needed 
• Check all doors and windows are closed
• Take your rubbish and recycling home. 
• Return the key.
• If anything does get broken such as a glass, we prefer you replace it rather than we charge you for it.

We will check afterwards and assuming everything is clean and undamaged your deposit will be returned within a week.

Ample time for you and your friends to bring your decorations, food and drinks onsite, then set everything up until it is perfect!

• No rush to get yourselves ready and greet your first guests without stress.

Charity events/fundraisers: £120

You can book extra hours before and after your party (subject to availability) for set up/clear up at £21/hour.

Daytime events: £17/hour midweek, £21/hour weekends (4 hour minimum)
